4 things I’ve learned in 4 years of blogging!

August 18, 2018

First off i want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who’s reading this. The last FOUR years wouldn’t have been the same without each and every one of you reading, suggesting, following along and supporting our journey. Through all the name changes, website remodels etc y’all are amazing for sticking with me! So THANK YOU! It’s so grateful you’re here!

Number 1. First and foremost I’ve learned that you have to stay true to yourself. Trying to be someone else or post like someone else because it works for them always ended up in me getting burned out, uninspired and upset! Why don’t people like this content why can’t that work for me!? Here’s why! It wasn’t 100% me! And I believe people can feel it when it’s not you. So, no matter what everyone else is doing, posting about etc. there are people out there that will WANT to read your content. Even if it just helped one person it’s worth the effort of posting!

Number 2. Success isn’t linear.

As most of you know it’s been a lot of ups and downs, name change, website changes, sabbaticals and chunks of time between posts over the years and most people wouldn’t say that’s a good thing but like with anything in life nothing is a straight shot and embracing the curves, detours and breaks along the way has been the best thing for me!

Number 3. If you love it KEEP at it.

Blogging/social influencing has Not always been something that people have accepted, even friends and family of mine have turned their nose o and scoffed at what I’ve been doing & initially it  really bothered me but eventually I chise to keep on keepin on because it brought me JOY. & I knew that my posts where helping people and letting them know they weren’t alone.  & that alone makes the scrutiny worth it.

Number 4. Similar to no.3

Finding my tribe. This did not happen over night, over months or even years lol but finding special people that root for you, encourage you and remind you that just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you can’t do it. Hold on to them and keep them close. Supportive people are life blood especially in a creative content space like this. I’m so thankful to have a few fantastic people that have been there to cheer me on through out the ups and downs of this blogging career. Likewise if you need a tribe hit me up! I’d love to connect with more creative minds throughout this journey!

Welp it’s not much & I’m no expert but there are a few things I’ve learned along the way!

Thank you again for being here and cheers to 4 years! I’m excited for the time to come and the projects I have in the works so stay tuned!!
