DIY // Place card holder Turkeys

November 13, 2017

I saw this tutorial on Pinterest and I knew I had to make them! I was itching to get crafty and with thanksgiving right around the corner it was just perfect timing!

You don’t need much for this one which I love because Lord knows I can’t be spending a ton of money on cute diy projects haha! (As much I want to!)

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Scissors (not pictured)

  • hot glue & hot glue gun (not pictured)

  • fakes or real leaves 🍁

  • clothes pins

  • wiggle/googley eyes

  • Liquid School glue (not pictured)

  • orange construction paper

First step is to use your liquid school glue and glue your googley eyes onto your clothes pins my clothes pins weren’t super wide so they hung off the edges and I’m fine with that

Next cut your orange paper into strips and cut tiny squares from it. If they are a lil off it’s okay, that’ll add some character to the “beaks” of your Turkeys!

Glue those squares on with one corner pointing up like so.

Let your turkey faces dry for a bit until you can’t see any wet school glue, while they are drying plug in your hot glue gun getting that warmed up and ready to roll.

... So I got busy making dinner, changing diapers & ya know all the mom things so I spaced I’m taking pics of this next part. but I can explain it. So turn it over and where the metal part is put hot glue in that divit. Then take two smaller leaves and have the stems face escorted let that dry then on the top part put a line of glue and put a larger leaf there so it looks like the top of the feathers so when you flip it back over he’ll look like this ...

and that’s it! Write out names on mini place cards and you’re all set for the Thanksgiving table!

Here’s a peek at what my work station actually looked like so you don’t get the illusion I’m neat and perfect 😂

So that’s it! I loved making these dudes and would love to see you make them too!!

Thanks for stopping by and I cant wait to hear what you think of these easy diy turkeys!

xoxo, Becca
